The Pavillion of Jade

Nanjing, China 02/2022

The name of Huai Shi Ting is taken from Lao Tzu "The saint is adorned with jade". The pavilion was inspired by Yuhua Stone_ a kind of beautiful stone specially produced in Nanjing. The overall layout uses the five senses of the human body- seeing, hearing, touching, smelling and tasting, to create multiple interactive experiences. The main building is composed of two Yuhua stones with different shapes and materials. The climbing stone its outer skin is a perforated metal sheet, and visitors can choose viewing platforms of different heights to rest and overlook the Changjiang river. The viewing stone provides more functions such as rest, scientific research and office.
